5 out of 5 stars Loud, deep bass! Big sound in a little package.   November 2, 2008

I just picked one up on sale at BB for $650 and the sound is amazing. Nice, deep, pure sound. I can't even enjoy the full beauty of the speaker in my apartment I can only turn the volume up about 1/8th of the way before it rattles the walls. If i turned it up 1/2 way the neighbours would throw a fit. Looks great, sounds great, I'm glad I bought it.

5 out of 5 stars Nice small sub   March 24, 2009

This is a really nice subwoofer. It will really add depth and "oomph" to your movie and music listening. The rest of my speaker system is also Def Tech stuff, & I like it all. I've had this sub for a couple of years now. Also... It has a high W.A.F., which is very nice (Wife Acceptance Factor), mainly because it is so small. You can hide it almost anywhere. My living room is rather large, with vaulted open ceilings, so I really needed something to fill the room with bass. This works great.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Sub!!!   November 8, 2009

I have had this sub for a few weeks now and I couldn't be happier with it. We have a very large great room with 18' ceilings and it fills the room with thunderous bass effortlessly. It has no problem putting out low rumbling bass found on movie soundtracks but what is most impressive is how much 'punch' it has when playing music...it is very tight. And like another reviewer noted, your wife will love how small it is. (I was forced to displace my old towers to the basement a few years ago...)
UPDATE:
Months after this purchase I am still very satisfied. It is simply a great sub. I got a laugh the other day when I was going through the manual. The Definitive engineers actually suggest TWO of these things for your system- one for each side. It was then clear to me that Definitive Technology engineers do not have wives or neighbors, nor do they live near any fault lines. I cannot imagine two of these subs in your living room...

5 out of 5 stars Small but packs punch!!   January 21, 2010

I just recieved this subwoofer and hooked it up in 20 x 17 family room to give it a test run. When I saw the size of this thing I was a little worried. My last sub was a JBL 12 inch sub that finally gave out after 10 years. Once I picked up this sub you can feel the quality in the weight alone(heavy for its size). I tested this little baby out on Iron Man and The Hurt Locker Blu ray and even running it at 40% power and set to -2db this thing shook the house with hard hitting bass!! My wife was relieved when she saw the size of the cube and then she hated it when I showed her what it could do. Holy Bass!!! I have always considered myself an electronics snob and I was not sure what def tech sub to go with. Unless you are trying to fill an entire house with cathedral ceilings I can't in my right mind understand why a normal set up would need the supercube 1 or reference or even more insane Trinity. This sub will fit almost anywhere for your application and will bring the pain!!!
