| Customer Reviews: Big sound from a little package, perfect rear surrounds September 13, 2009 J. M. Howard (Oklahoma City, OK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these when I re-did my home 7.1 theater system. I have a pair of these, 2 pair of the larger RM8 for front and side, and the center channel. I like the sub/sat types of systems as I don't loose any floor space using towers. As long as you get a stellar sub, these work amazingly well. The dispersion is fantastic, completely fills our large living room with sound. Whether it's a Blu-Ray movie or a satellite radio channel, it all sounds amazing.
Single Polk Speaker February 1, 2010 John S (Memphis, TN) This speaker was purchased to compliment a Polk 5.1 speaker system. As expected it was a perfect match.
With the cost of a single speaker, it would be nice if a 6.1 speaker system were available, which according to the manufacturer is. Just could not find it available.

I am not a good tester of this product as I use hearing aides. My TV speakers were terrible, and these are at least better.
Tiny, and tinny September 12, 2009 la Contesse d'Eau Floridée (Brooklyn, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought 2 of these Polk speakers to replace my 20 year old yamaha left-over-from college bookshelf speakers -- with a mind to create a really exceptional audio environment in my small living room. The sound was horrible. I tried multiple configurations -- with and without subwoofer, different channels on the receiver, new monster shielded cable, etc. They were as bad as small computer speakers, with no depth and no midrange. I'm not an audio expert and probably expected too much from something at this price, but all the glowing reviews (for similar Polk models) swayed me.
I did also get a Polk 10" subwoofer which is wonderful and which I kept, and sounds great with the heavy old Yamahas.
